About this café.

How do I find my way around?

Choose an object in the room, or use this panel. The doormat leads to the existing NotchCafe product page at www.24hr.cafe/notchcafe. The window changes moods; the clock opens focus; the laptop offers a browser preview. The espresso machine brews into your table cup, the bookshelf opens a short read, the plant responds to watering, and the stool offers a one-minute breathing break.

Use Tab and Enter to explore, and Escape to close a panel. In the laptop preview, arrow keys switch tools. Reduce Motion stops decorative animation. Closing the breathing panel ends the break.

What stays in this café?

Your note, room preferences, and volume stay in this browser’s local storage. Your focus timer stays in this tab through reloads; closing the tab ends its saved session. Radio Pause or Stop lasts for this visit; a fresh page starts with the radio on again. Nothing syncs to NotchCafe. Notes are not encrypted; avoid sensitive information on shared devices. There are no accounts, analytics, or public guestbook here.

Where does the sound come from?

The three ambience loops are original synthesized sounds from NotchCafe. The radio is an original, repeating instrumental—not a live station or the app’s generative LoFi engine. Each visit starts with the radio on. It plays automatically where browser policy allows; otherwise your first interaction starts it. You can Pause or Stop for the rest of this visit.

Who’s here right now?

The shelf-mounted counter shows active browsers, not a verified headcount. Multiple tabs count once using a random, session-only cookie. Presence refreshes every ten seconds, with a thirty-second grace period if a tab disconnects without leaving cleanly. Only anonymous, short-lived presence leases are stored; expired records are ignored and removed on the next request. No names, locations, or visit history are used for this count. An unavailable count is shown as a dash, not a stale number.

Connecting to the café…

Connected browsers, including yours. Multiple tabs in one browser count once. No names, locations, or visitor history are collected. Seats are a small illustration, not an occupancy limit.

FROM THE CAFÉ SHELF / A TWO-MINUTE READ

One small thing.

There is a cup cooling on the table. For a moment, it is the only thing asking for your attention. Not the whole day. Not the list waiting somewhere behind this window. Just the cup.

Choose one small thing you can finish. Give it a beginning and an end. An email, a paragraph, a patch. If it turns out to be bigger than you thought, choose a smaller beginning.

Then stop for a breath. A quiet minute is not a prize you have to earn. The room will still be here.

An original short read, written for this café.

PULL UP A STOOL

A minute with no agenda.

Breathe gently, only as far as feels comfortable. This is a quiet visual guide, not medical advice.

Let your shoulders settle.
